Effective, efficient packaging and corrugated board supply is the business ethos of leading board manufacturer and industry renowned supplier Board24. To support this it has launched its Lab Series – a series of information sheets specifically designed to help customers understand how corrugated packaging can support their supply chain and business needs.
A series of eight information guides tackle several common issues from assessing board grades to the Box Compression Test and are designed to not only stimulate thought, also increase understanding and awareness of the performance characteristics of corrugated board. In addition, cost reductions can be achieved and performance issues eliminated when a greater understanding of the qualities of corrugated board is acquired.
“We want to work with customers across the country and the industry to ensure their corrugated packaging is performing at optimum levels and to unlock the potential of correctly specified packaging,” said Richard McBride Managing Director Board24. “This means by understanding the necessary performance attributes of board, ensures ascertaining the correct board grade and the most appropriate box design to ensure maximum supply chain efficiencies are realised.”
Lab Series guides customers and packaging specifiers through a pertinent range of ways in which they can conduct a packaging review or audit and provoke thought as to how Board24 could support changes to packaging specification.
“Effective packaging is not just ensuring it is fit for purpose, it is about making sure the correct board grade is used to provide adequate product protection, that transport and palletisation is efficient and costs are managed in an appropriate way,” said Richard. “By adopting a value engineering process cost saving efficiencies may be achieved all whilst adding value to the packaging chosen by companies across the UK.”
