Role: Despatch Clerk

Location: Board24, Coalville

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience. Please state salary expectations when applying

Hours: 05.30 to 13.30 13.30 to 21.30 however, there will be a need to demonstrate flexibility in your hours of work where necessary in order to meet customer needs. Paid overtime for holiday cover will also be required.

Owing to business growth and increasing engagement from our current and prospective customer base, we have an exciting opportunity for a highly driven, focused and determined Despatch planning Clerk. They will work within our well regarded despatch team.

The successful applicant should have a very high attention to detail ensuring information is correctly entered onto our systems and understand what our customers require. We are a customer centric business and rely on our despatch team to be at the forefront of that.

A strong willingness to proactively communicate with our customers on a very regular basis is essential. This is primarily E mail but also by telephone. Being a strong listener, who is inquisitive and keen to find solutions will fit well as we strive to build long lasting relationships.

Calmness in working within tight deadlines and remaining professional at all times is a fundamental attribute for the role. Comfortable working co-operatively within a tight team of 2 people is also important.

Experience in either packaging or despatch is viewed as desirable.

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Effective customer liaison
  • Efficient planning to maximise load fill and delivery slots
  • Optimising customer on time in full (OTIF) expectancy
  • Booking deliveries with customers
  • Efficient processing and checking of delivery invoices.
  • Working co-operatively with other departments within the business
  • Liaison with the haulier for effective transport planning of 40 to 60 loads per day
