As an alternative to sending Christmas cards, employees at Board24 Coalville decided to contribute their donations to nearby Forest Way School for a sixth consecutive year. The team also collated a number of items to make a Christmas hamper full of goodies which was raffled off raising further donations.
The team raised £1000 in support of Forest Way, which is a co-educational day area special school for pupils 192 aged 3-19 years, who have a wide range of needs from moderate learning disabilities to profound and multiple learning difficulties. It is located in the heart of the National Forest which is reflected in the building and grounds.
Forest Way has 16 classrooms with additional withdrawal and group rooms. The team are skilled, hardworking and committed to developing all children, not just academic ability. There are several curriculum rooms for specific subject areas; Science, Art, Food Technology, the hall for PE and studio for Music, Dance and Drama, swimming pool and a life skills bungalow and flat. There are sensory rooms including moonlight (dark) and starlight (light) and a soft play room. It also has various outdoor areas including an interactive playground, a bike track, ball court, garden for growing produce, a pond and a Forest School’s area.
Louise McAree, Cases24 Business Development who organised the collection, commented; “This will make 2018 our most successful year in fund raising for Forest Way, thank you to everyone who has supported this year’s collection and raffle it is very much appreciated. We have been delighted to contribute towards the school for the past six years.”
