Charity Matching Scheme

Employees at Board24 have been successfully raising money for charity over many years in all sorts of different events and challenges. In July 2018, W&R Barnett Limited formalised a charity matching scheme, opening it to the employees of all the companies within the wider W&R Barnett Group.

In that time W&R Barnett have received 11 applications from the Logson Group which equates to over 38% of the total applications they’ve received in the group, which puts The Logson Group at the top of the table for completed applications.

Overall in the last year we have raised money for various cancer and heart/stroke charities and with the matched funds we have raised a total of £3,358.56!  This is a fantastic figure, and with four more charitable events scheduled to take place this year, we are looking forward to raising more.

The next event has been set up by several employees of Board24 Coalville, who have arranged a Charity Quiz night on the 11th May at the local Hugglescote Social Club in aid of Prostate Cancer.

The team, which call themselves ‘Tortoises and the Hares’ are a group of 11 men (7 of which work for Board24) and are a mixture of ages as their name suggests. They have been raising money for Prostate Cancer since last year, raising around £2,500 so far. They are looking forward to being able to triple this amount this year, with more events planned and with the help of W&R Barnett’s charity matching scheme.

As a group they have all been affected by Prostate Cancer in some way or another and are all committed to raising money for this very worthy cause. Phil Slater, a FLT Driver for Board24 is one of the founders of the group, he says “The group was originally formed by people wanting to support each other and the cause. We’re all really supportive of each other, which is the key element in our fund raising campaign.”
