Kerry-Ann Hughes is Board24’s Key Account Development Specialist and started with the business over 7 years ago. After initially working in Customer Service, she moved to external sales almost 3 years ago. Before Board24 she worked for Smurfit Kappa Preprint.
Kerry-Ann describes her role as taking Board24’s Customer Service on the road and adopts a proactive approach. Her average day involves face to face reviews, assisting customers with new business acquisition and focusing on their value enhancing exercises. She monitors customer activity daily, ensuring that Board24 are responding to both customer enquiries and queries as quickly as possible.
Kerry-Ann’s role is designed to try and exceed our customers overall service delivery expectation and therefore her working days are never the same. Kerry-Ann goes to where she is needed most and finds it important to find a healthy balance between visiting customers and being in the office with her colleagues. Very often she will need to liaise with all of the departments at Board24, including Customer Service, Commercial and Despatch.
Focused on finding the best solutions for the customer, a large part of her day will be connected to that solution provision.
Kerry-Ann tells us what her favourite part of working at Board24 is: “I am blessed with some very wonderful customers and colleagues; my favourite part is working with them. Unsurprisingly after seven years, I have established some great relationships. I am also proud to work for such a reputable company who deliver great service and quality – it’s rewarding hearing positive feedback from customers during visits and it’s even more rewarding when I get to bring that positive news back to the team.”
When asked about her fondest memory here at Board24 she told us: “In the office, everyone has their own cup. Not long after I started, I was going to bring one in, however I fell in love with ‘the badger cup’ which belonged to Debbie in Customer Service. She kindly donated it to me… and it’s still going strong today!”
When Kerry-Ann isn’t visiting customers, in her spare time she spends time learning Spanish as she has always wanted to be bilingual and has taken steps to make that a reality. She also has a love for Country Music and visited Nashville in 2017. Due to this she has been affectionately nicknamed ‘Dolly’ within the office and is even incorporating a couple of Country twists into her wedding which is taking place later this year.
