Staff Profile – Kelly Schofield


Another long term team member is Kelly Schofield, who started in the Customer Service team at Board24 Coalville after finishing school; this was her first proper job and she must enjoy her job as she has just completed her 20th year.

Day to day you will find Kelly working as part of the customer services team, taking orders, dealing with customer queries, taking new enquiries, putting together quotes and generally looking after her accounts. She enjoys the variety of her role, due to the changeability of the customers’ requirements – no two days are the same.

With scenarios such as an order being required urgently, it’s vital that Kelly can assist customers straight away by liaising with the teams across the business to find an ideal solution. This level of service builds good relationships with Board24 customers and allows them to trust the team to deliver what they need, as promptly as possible.

Kelly loves speaking to customers on the phone, and enjoys the opportunity to build a rapport with them, but one thing she does like about her role is the friendly atmosphere of those she works with, many of who she has worked with for a number of years as they are also long serving employees. As if seeing them on a daily basis isn’t enough the ladies occasionally get together for the odd glass of wine (or few).

Kelly comments; “Working in packaging is definitely a challenge but it keeps things interesting! I probably wouldn’t be able to do it with a smile on my face all the time if I didn’t have such good relationships with customers and I didn’t work as part of such of a lovely team.”

Outside of work Kelly has three teenage children to keep her busy and entertained, with most weekends spent ferrying the kids to various activities and friends’ houses. She is hoping for a puppy under the Christmas tree this year, failing that an Audi A1 on the drive. She’s also a self-confessed box set binger, any recommendations welcome!
