Instead of sending out Christmas cards, employees at Board24 Coalville decided to contribute their donations to Forest Way School for the fifth consecutive year. The team raised £550 in support of Forest Way, which is a co-educational day area special school for pupils aged 3-19 years and meets a full range of abilities. It is located in the heart of the National Forest which is reflected in the building and grounds.
Forest Way has 17 classrooms with additional withdrawal and group rooms. The team are skilled, hardworking and committed to developing all children, not just academic ability. We recognise that success for every child will be different and celebrate this in numerous ways.
There are several curriculum rooms for specific subject areas; Science, Art, Food Technology, the hall for PE and studio for Music, Dance and Drama, swimming pool and a life skills bungalow and flat.
There are sensory rooms including moonlight (dark) and starlight (light) and a soft play room. It also has various outdoor areas including an interactive playground, a bike track, ball court, garden for growing produce, a pond and a Forest School’s area.
Louise McAree, Board24 Business Development Analyst who organised the collection, commented; “We agreed within the office and as a business to no longer send Christmas cards, instead donate the funds saved to a worthy cause, specifically Forest Way School, which is local to the Coalville site. We have been delighted to contribute towards the school for the past five years.”
