We are pleased to announce that one of our Mechanical Engineering Apprentices, Tom Brewster has received his apprenticeship certificate.
Tom joined the Preston team in July 2012 as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice. Over this four year period Tom has achieved several awards:
- Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture (Engineering Maintenance)
- Engineering Science and Manufacturing Technologies
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance – Engineering Systems
- Functional Skills in Information and Communication Technology Level 2
- Federation for Industry Sector Skills and Standards
- City and Guilds
The academic qualifications were gained at Runshaw College, Leyland, Lancashire and Tom has worked closely with the ‘in house’ engineers and also the group Technical Project Manager, Mark Crawford.
Tom is now serving his improvership and is actually covering the production shift at our Preston site and plays a vital role within the Engineering Department.
Eric Marshall, Board24 Preston Operations Manager, comments; “Tom started with us four years ago and the transformation from a ‘young lad’ to where he is now is remarkable. He has developed his skills, both academically and vocationally in his own well-structured and disciplined way. His demeanour has given the Management team the confidence to allow him to act as full time shift engineer during his improvership.”
