Just a few days ago, two colleagues from our Coalville site attended the inaugural Women in Packaging Excellence Awards at Hilton Bankside, London.
In a glittering black-tie event, hosted by Sally Gunnell OBE, Laura Stanaway (Business Development Executive) and Tia Betton (Business Improvement Manager) were shortlisted in the Packaging Operations Excellence, Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence and Rising Star categories respectively.
Whilst they didn’t receive the winners’ trophy, they are still very much winners in our eyes!
Alex Morris, Managing Director, Board24 Coalville commented; “Both Laura and Tia are carving excellent careers for themselves in Board24 and Cases24 and simply making the shortlist was a great accolade.
“Well done to all those who made the shortlist and for showcasing the packaging industry, including corrugated, as a forward-thinking sector with superb career opportunities.”
Hosted in conjunction with Packaging News, the awards invited nominations from a wide range of skill sets in the packaging industry. After an initial paper sift, those shortlisted were invited to submit a more detailed application as to why they would be a worthy winner of their award.
Over 200 finalists were announced across 29 categories and recognise women in roles within all types of packaging.
With entries for some categories topping 500 it shows the part women play in all aspects of packaging from technical, to managerial to leadership roles, all of which make the packaging industry in the UK a great one to be part of.
We shall look forward to entering again next year! To view all winners visit https://wipea.packagingnews.co.uk/WomeninPackagingExcellenceAwards25/en/page/2025-winners-page
