Investing to reduce complexity and improve quality with Fosber’s simply better technology, Board24 have chosen to install a new chop knife on Corrugator 1 at Coalville.

The Fosber investment will further benefit the production of board at Coalville, maintaining quality, efficiency and reliability.

Integrating with the pre-existing Fosber slitter/scorer and downstacker, the intelligent design provides a no crush exit roll, anti-skew belts and the complete control of sheets exiting the knife regardless of speed.

A cut length precision of +/-1 mm is guaranteed via a Vector Drive Control with a power recovery system, greatly reducing power consumption.

The knife is run by a high performance control system featuring: order visualisation, machine status, production data, fault diagnosis and operator override facilities. The control system communicates with the other dry-end machinery and scheduling systems. Remote access for further Fosber diagnostic and support services can also be sought through the network connection.

Operator safety is maintained as the knife is fully protected by the use of extensive guarding and lockout devices to meet the necessary standards.

The quality, efficiency and reliability of Fosber machinery is well known and understood at Coalville, not only does the dry end of Corrugator 1 now fully feature Fosber, the slitter/scorer and chop knife of Corrugator 2 are Fosber made.
