The Board24 team at Coalville expanded with the appointment of new apprentice Jemma Hudson.
Jemma, 21, of Bardon, joined the team in February from Loughborough College in Leicestershire. As an apprentice she will work towards her NVQ level 3 in Applied Science, whilst working as Laboratory Technician Apprentice at Board24. She is due to complete her course in March 15, with the view of embarking on another course.
Jemma’s training at Board24 has ensured she is equipped with sound packaging product knowledge in order to provide her with the skills to carry out her tasks of sample making for all enquiries, testing board grades and developing our technical expertise amongst other responsibilities. Jemma is excellent at managing her time to fulfil the requirements of the team.
Alex Morris, Sales Manager at Board24 Coalville, said “Jemma is a very enthusiastic individual, who has been a great asset to the team and we’re looking forward to seeing her skills develop. As a business, we feel it is important to support the next generation of young people coming into the packaging industry.”
Jemma commented; “Apprenticeships are a great way for young people to get a foot in the door, and learn new hands on skills whilst continuing to study. Having been with the company a few months now, I’m enjoying working alongside the rest of the team and relish the opportunity I have been given.”
As though a full time job and college course wasn’t enough, Jemma is also studying for a Maths degree through Open University. However, she still finds time to socialise with family and friends and enjoys taking part in sports.
