Personal Protective Equipment – Packaging

As UK hospitals struggle to have the full and correct PPE for front line care staff the necessity of the supply chain to react has never been greater. As a result, demand for PPE has increased significantly and manufacturers of the materials and all those within the supply chain are having to react fast.

A trade customer put a challenge to Cases24 to increase and produce corrugated cases to keep up with increased production and demand. The response due to the necessity of the situation was swift and ensured effective transport of much needed PPE.

Board24 Customer Service Administrator, Debbie Newbold, who was integral to the demand increase, worked closely with the customer’s requirement, “We are proud as a team to be able to help the NHS in this difficult situation. We were required to create new specifications within much shorter periods of time than usual. We recognised that given the situation and what the boxes were being used for that acting fast was imperative.”

As a company within a key sector in this pandemic, Board24 are fully operational,  manufacturing essential packaging for supply chains of vital food and healthcare supplies for their trade customers. And with the majority of their office staff now working from home where possible, this is testament to the work force who are determined to ensure that other key sectors receive what they need during this pandemic, whether that be food, hospital equipment or medical supplies.

Warm praise was received for the efforts of the Customer Services and manufacturing teams: “We thank all at Board24 for continuing to supply cases which are going into helping the NHS & also the food supply chain. In normal circumstances the lead time to create new box specifications is longer and we don’t require such an urgent response. We are delighted with the partnership we have with Board24 to ensure essential supplies are provided to those who need it the most.”

Cases24 Managing Director, Alex Morris comments, “Demand has spiked recently in line with consumption changes of consumers and those supplying organisations such as the NHS. We are pleased to be recognised as essential within the supply chain to ensure people are served with products they require. This has included PPE for front line doctors, nurses and other carers. I am also hugely proud of the Board24 team as their contribution is vital in helping the country though the COVID-19 crisis.”
