Board24 has had its fair share of team members receiving long service awards over the years. This time it was the turn of Gordon McArthur and David Rundell at the Larkhall site who celebrated their 25 years on the team.
Gordon McArthur has witnessed many changes during his 25 years, starting out as a Sales Manager before becoming Sales Director. Over the years he has gained valuable experience and enjoyed seeing the company progress, working with all three plants. During his time as Sales Director, he and his team have grown the business, developing and expanding the customer base by leveraging his experience and knowledge.
Gordon has nurtured and developed his relationships with our customer base over the years and is well respected by his colleagues, customers and suppliers. As a key member of the Larkhall Management team he has enabled the site to grow and develop its presence in the Scottish market.
David Rundell currently works as a Slitter Scorer Operative and is responsible for setting and checking board qualities. He has developed other skills during his time at Board24, which has included being a trained FLT driver, Strapper Operative and Take Off Operative.
David is a very flexible and reliable employee, who is willing to help whenever he can, whether it be helping others within his working area or involved in project work around the site with the Supervisor. Outside of work he is a keen lawn bowls player, interests in horse racing and likes to attend football matches supporting the ‘blue half of the city’.
As a token of the company’s appreciation, staff were presented with a certificate and a gift by Managing Director Richard McBride, who commented; “This is an extraordinary achievement, it shows true loyalty and a strong sense of belonging within the business. On behalf of Board24 we thank Gordon and David for their valuable contribution to the success of the Larkhall site”.
