On January 3, 2023, Board24 welcomed Martin Birch as General Manager of Preston Site, bringing with him extensive experience in the packaging industry . With years of experience in label printing, Martin is poised to lead the Preston team and build on what has already been accomplished by Board24’s Preston team.

Prior to joining Board24, Martin was the Multi-site Operations Director at Westrock, a large global company. While Martin has come from a different industry, they have many similarities, including roll-fed equipment and transferrable management skills. Martin was drawn to Board24 because of its dynamic strategy, key team members, and the possibility of making a difference in Preston.

Martin is responsible for leading and managing the general running of the Preston site. As a member of the Preston site management team, he is excited to contribute to the excellent work already being done in the industry and to make Preston the best site in the industry. One of the things Martin enjoys about is role is working with different teams, building a mission, looking for opportunities for improvement, and making a difference.

Outside of work, Martin enjoys living in Liverpool and taking advantage of its culture, restaurants, and music scene. As an outdoors person, he particularly enjoys running, snowboarding, going to the gym, and wild camping, to name a few.

One interesting fact about Martin is that he once cycled the entire length of Italy solo to learn the Italian language and did not fall off his bike once. This shows his determination and adventurous spirit, which he will no doubt bring to his role at Board24.
