This month’s staff profile focusses on Phil Moss, our Corrugator 4 Shift Team Leader at Board24 Preston. Phil has been with Board24 for almost 21 years, starting as a production operative and working his way to Shift Team Leader.

Phil has been trained throughout his time at Board24 to aid him in his role, including first aid training, Fire Marshall training , area safety inspections and safe systems of work. This has enabled him to fulfil his role as Team Leader to the best of his ability.

Phil manages a strong team and helps to ensure they achieve the best results and surpass the KPIs that they’ve been set. He also ensures high levels of health and safety are continuously maintained every day by each member of his team. Phil tells us: “The people here in the factory are an asset to Board24. I consider each and every one of them my friend, not just work colleagues.”

Phil started on the pallet line in January 2000 and became the pallet line team leader just one year later. This role then expanded to assistant shift team leader where he stayed until 2018 when he then became the shift team leader in October 2018. “My fondest memory is when I became a shift team leader. It was great to know that the company had faith in me to carry out this role successfully.”

In his spare time Phil spends the majority of his time with his large family, including is four daughters and four grandchildren, with another 2 grandchildren on the way. Phil watches his eldest grandson play football for a local team every week and helps taking his granddaughter to and from hospital appointments.
