Board24 have been nurturing more talented students to achieve hands on industry skills through apprenticeship schemes.
The Coalville site currently have two apprentices working in the testing laboratory, CAD and customer services.
Jemma Hudson, who is working as a Laboratory Technician whilst undertaking Laboratory Technicians Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3). Bethannie O’Connell, is working a dual role in both Customer Services and Despatch and undertaking a Diploma in Business Administration (Level 2 C&G).
Board24 encourage apprentices to stay in their roles through our industry mentoring and training program to ensure they have the skills set required for a full time permanent role in our business.
The company appreciate the significant benefits that apprenticeships create, not only in terms of developing highly skilled employees, but also an excellent way of training and developing people to give them the skills and qualities they need for the future.
Sales and Marketing Director, Alex Morris, commented; “Jemma and Beth have become valuable members of the team, quickly picking up the necessary skills obtained at college and in their roles at Board24. Jemma has progressed beyond a lab technician to take on sample making and designing, while Beth has demonstrated a proficiency at pricing, which are unexpected bonuses. The apprentice scheme Loughborough College run has helped us source the best candidates for the roles. I would happily recommend the scheme to anyone looking to complement their team with school leavers keen to make a positive impression.”
