At the start of April, we welcomed Claire Butler to Board24 as our new Head of HR.

With 20 years of HR experience, Claire has a wealth of knowledge developed in a plethora of sectors from transport to Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) to manufacturing, offshore wind and most recently waste-to-energy.

Claire commented, “I have had amazing opportunities over the years to get involved in a variety of HR and business projects on a local and international level, for example assisting in the set-up of service sites in America, Japan and Taiwan with MHI Vestas offshore wind, translating local employment law to ensure it fits the needs of the business.

“A role in HR is extremely varied, so no two days are the same and you never know what to expect when you walk through the door in a morning. There is always the opportunity to learn new things and develop initiatives that can have a positive effect on people which is extremely rewarding.”

Claire will be regularly travelling to each site at Coalville, Preston and Eurocentral, which is fitting as outside of work, her main passion is travel. Claire is passionate about seeing different places around the world, experiencing the history, culture, food and sampling the odd local beverage!

Claire’s also heavily involved in her local community and said; “When I am not travelling or planning the next trip, I get great satisfaction in giving a little back, such as donating blood, supporting local charities or the monthly beach clean at Crosby beach. And of course, I love spending time with friends and family.”

Looking ahead, Claire is anticipating a city break in Barcelona as well as meeting more of her new colleagues, getting to know more about the business at Board24 and seeing what challenges lie ahead.
