The Board24 Safety Reps at Preston completed a one-day course with the British Safety Council. The aim of the training was to ‘enable them to play an effective part in the management of health and safety in the workplace.

The newest Safety Reps, Martin Moss and Peter Kitchen commented, “We both found the course to be a great benefit to our understanding of what it is to be a Safety Representative”.

Mick Walsh, Preston’s Site Safety Officer went on to say, “Our plan going forward is to have regular safety rep meetings and carryout one to one refresher training on topics such as reporting of near misses & ProSTOPS. Our aim is for more operatives to engage with our Safety Reps and discuss ideas & issues with them.”
