Cardboard Floats and Festival Fun

Share

Board24 Preston was recently contacted by St Francis Catholic School in Goosnargh to donate cardboard to help make their float for the Goosnargh and Whittingham Festival.

The villagers of Goosnargh and Whittingham came together following the Spring Bank Holiday Monday to celebrate the annual Whitsuntide Festival. Events begin outside “The Grapes Inn” with traditional maypole dancing whilst the Procession forms up. A vibrant array of participants headed by the Apple Blossom children and featuring fancy dress and decorated floats accompanies the retiring and new Festival Queens and their visitors from surrounding communities.

Sara Arundale from St Francis sent a letter of thanks; “Thank you so very much from all at St Francis’ School, Goosnargh for helping us to ‘win’, yes, ‘win’ 2nd place at the Goosnargh and Whittingham Festival. Your generous donation of card and sticky tape made flowers, clouds, grass, campfires, drums, roller-skates etc and looked absolutely fantastic! Our little ‘Trolls’ looked brilliant amongst all the foliage.”
