This August will mark 31 years of service at Board24 for employee Steven Kennedy (also known as Stevie), during which time he has undertaken a number of advancement roles before starting his current position as Production Manager at the Larkhall site.

Steven started his career on the corrugator take off section and later moved on to wet end operator. He progressed to assistant supervisor and full time Supervisor roll before taking up a role in planning. An opportunity came up to undertake a role in Health and Safety, following the completion of the relevant exams. He later advanced to his current role, which he has held ten years.

On a day to day basis Steven’s extensive knowledge enables him to be involved with all aspects of production. His role includes organising, overseeing and monitoring production processes, reviewing and organising production schedules and training and supervising production, amongst other everyday tasks that come with supervising a team of 60.

Steven comments; “I enjoy the responsibilities that come with the job and working alongside the team. I take pride in ensuring people achieve their potential, seeing a number of the team complete apprenticeships schemes, NVQ’s and other qualifications.”

The company has developed over the years through the various changes and under different ownership, but Steven has enjoyed seeing the company progress, not only internally but also tackling the changing demands from customers as their technology, processes and production lines improve.

When he isn’t in the factory, Steven can be found in the stands at his local football club or taking to the side lines to watch his son play, he also enjoys spending time with his family, exploring nearby areas on walks.
