Logson Group designers choose AG/CAD

Recently Boxes and Packaging Manchester, a part of the Logson Group, installed two new Computer Aided Design (CAD) Tables, with another to follow shortly at their Oxford site.

The investment will bring added design capacity to the two sites. The tables, whilst having the same dimensions as the outgoing models, deliver much faster performance speeds than the previous models and will increase capacity for designing and producing essential customer samples, production ready samples and boxes for transit trials.

Cases24 made a similar investment last year, replacing their old CAD table with the newer DYSS X5-1625T 2T Head model. The investment was a significant upgrade for the business, increased reliability with greater efficiently and precision. The new CAD table also can be fixed remotely should an error occur, cutting down on the time it takes to fix any errors.

Jemma Hudson, Board24 Design & Laboratory Manager, uses the CAD table mostly for samples for customers: “Following an increase in design and sampling activity as a result of customer growth over the past few years, it became clear our old KM model wasn’t up to the job, this sometimes pushed lead times from 24-48 hours up to a week, which was unacceptable, especially when a customer has urgent needs. We have had the new model installed for a year now and we have not had any down time. This has ensured that we can maintain our fast and efficient service that our customers have come to know us for.”

The AG/CAD tables are supported by KASEMAKE software; widely recognised as the world market leader in packaging design. It has 700 adjustable design templates which create 3D virtual samples and environment modelling.
