Last year Board24 sponsored a local under 16’s junior football club. Not only did they win the league but the Lostock Hall Juniors Football club won The Queens Award for Voluntary service.
The Queens Award for Voluntary service is the MBE for volunteer groups, the official announcement was made in the London Gazette in early June 2018. The award was created by the Queen to celebrate the anniversary of the Queen’s coronation, recognising excellence in voluntary activities carried out by groups in the community.
This award is extremely prestigious as it identifies the fantastic work the club’s volunteers do and includes all those past and present.
The award is the equivalent to receiving an MBE and the Assessment Committee were very impressed with their work, not only the children and young people, but local and national charities and the club’s work with various CPR originations and charities too.
The club were one of seven voluntary groups/organisations from Lancashire who were presented with The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for volunteer groups.
