Karl joined Board24 in July 2022 as Group Operations Director, bringing with him a breadth of experience. He has been in the packaging industry for over 20 years, working for large multi-national companies in operational roles. Recently as the Regional Head of Operational Excellence & Supply Chain for DS Smith North Europe.

Karl’s role involves development and leadership of the Operational, Technical and Planning functions whilst supporting our people in delivering their potential.

Since joining Board24 Karl has remarked on the varied scale of involvement through the differing functions, whether supporting the teams with the day-to-day issues, meeting our customers discussing their requirements or involvement in Board24’s New greenfield site. During this process, Karl has been learning about the new business and understanding its strategic direction.

As part of Karl’s integration into the operations community, he is working on developing an operational strategy that will support the impressive work and results that have already been achieved whilst addressing the challenges that lie ahead in this worrying economic situation. Karl commented, “my role with the operations team will contribute to Board24’s continued success by focusing on service and quality, developing standard processes, and managing internal costs, which will support our growth aspirations in the near future.”

Karl also commented: “As we look to leave behind the supply crisis of COVID, we face rising costs and a recession in the UK. As a team we need to ensure we deliver stability and value to our customers and employees through 2023 and beyond. The exciting investment opportunities in the coming months and years will strengthen our operational value proposition to the market and will ensure Board24 continues to be the leading Independent in the UK, all of which I am excited to be a part off”.

Away from the office Karl’s focus is on his children and their never-ending activities. “I am a keen sports fan with a love for football, not only supporting it but coaching it”. Karl has lived all over the world from Germany to Hong Kong and continues to love experiencing travel with new cultures and food at the heart of each experience.
