Lee Twyman is our Shift Team Leader at Preston and this year he will be celebrating 20 years at Board24. He started at Board24 as a Clamp Truck Driver in the reel stores, then promoted to Team Leader of reel stores before becoming the Shift Team Leader on the corrugator in 2009.

Focusing on personal development, Lee has completed a leadership and management course run by Lincolnshire University and also attended a 1 week corrugating seminar in Derby. Board24 strongly believes in investing in their employees and making sure that they have the training and skills they need to do their job to the best of their ability. Lee has also undertaken various in house training courses including IOSH training, E-learning, First aid training, Fire training and FLT and Clamp truck license and a MEWP license. It’s safe to say that Lee is qualified for his role.

Committed to Board24 Make It Safe, Lee oversees the health and safety of his shift operators and the areas that he works within. He also oversees the quality of the product and strives to meet the specific targets that Board24 set. From day to day he has to list and report all machine and staff issues to the specific personnel and departments to maintain smooth running between the shifts.

We asked Lee what his favourite part about working for Board24 is: “I think it’s the people. We have a wide range of different personalities that work within our site. It`s interesting to hear the different things that make people tick and that they can all come together to form a good team. I believe the people are our biggest asset.”

After almost 20 years here at Board24, we asked Lee what his fondest memory of being in the company was. Lee responded: “It was being recognised for my endeavor`s whilst working within the reel stores. I received a phone call when on my Christmas break by my then Manager, Lee Bullen, to come into work. It was then that he offered me the position that I currently hold. As surprised as I was at the time it was great feeling to be rewarded.”

In his spare time, Lee loves going to watch football. He is an avid follower of Preston North End and has had 28 season tickets in the last 30 years. He also follows non-league football when he is in his home town of Ramsgate FC. Lee used to collect football programs for a number of years but got banned from collecting them when they started to take over the house.
