Our staff profile this month features Corrugator 2 Team leader, Robert Woods, who this year reached his 10-year milestone at Board24 Coalville. Robert has worked all aspects of the Corrugator, from Top Take Off Operator to Facer Operator, from Backer Operator to working his way up to Team Leader.
His most recent achievement is the completion of CMI Level 3 in Management and Leadership for Business, which he passed with Distinction. During his time with Board24 he has also completed various in-house training courses, including an IOSH Managing Safely course.
His days at Board24 are varied and involve numerous duties such as communicating plans to staff and other departmental leaders, reviewing and assessing any modification/changes in Safe Systems of Work/Risk Assessments, ongoing training/mentoring staff in their roles, planning holiday cover and continuous quality checks.
Robert particularly enjoys the challenges within the workplace and working out ways to counter them, in turn he also likes the opportunities that arise from said challenges. Having worked in the business for some time he reflects on his fondest memory; “Achieving Team Leader Status and working alongside the same crews that were on the machines with myself when I was an operator. The last year has seem some challenges times and it has been great to work together as a team to help each other through it.”
When he is not busy looking after his team, Robert enjoys snowboarding, which he has done for over 15 years. He also enjoys a round of golf, and is a keen Leicester Tigers Fan, he has held a season ticket for 10 years, since he quit playing.
If you are looking for some culinary advice…Robert is your man! He has a passion for cooking after learning to cook from a young age from his Dad, who was a Head Chef for 25 years. He is also keen to get back traveling to some of his favourite places like the Lake District and Cornwall.
