EcoVadis accreditation supports customer goals

Share

We are pleased to announce that our inaugural accreditation under the EcoVadis scheme has resulted in us reaching the ‘Committed’ standard, a fantastic achievement for a first audit above the average for year one.

This shows we represent ‘Good’ performance in the EcoVadis methodology.

What is EcoVadis?

EcoVadis is a sustainability ratings platform that assesses companies’ environmental, social, and governance performance.

It provides assessments based on various criteria, including labour practices, environmental impact, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Businesses use EcoVadis ratings to benchmark their sustainability efforts, improve their practices, and demonstrate their commitment to responsible business conduct to stakeholders. The platform is often utilised by companies looking to enhance their supply chain sustainability and assess the Environmental, Social, and Governance risks associated with their partners and suppliers.

What are businesses measured against to achieve the accreditations?

Companies are measured against 4 sets of criteria.

Environmental performance  Energy consumption and efficiency, Water usage and management, Waste management and recycling practices, Carbon emissions and climate change initiatives

Social Criteria – Labour practices Human Rights, Health & Safety performance.

Governance – Ethical  Criteria, anti-corruption measures, Board diversity and structure
Compliance with laws and regulations.

Sustainable Procurement –
Supply chain transparency and accountability
Vendor sustainability practices and policies

Businesses are assessed against each criteria annually with the focal point being continuous improvements year on year.

What does it mean to customers?

Companies looking to ensure that their suppliers have good Environmental, Social, and Governance practices in place seek out supply chain partners who are actively working in partnership with the EcoVadis scheme.

It gives those customers:

Transparency – Customers gain insight into the sustainability practices and risks associated with their suppliers or business partners.

Trust –  A good rating can enhance credibility, demonstrating a commitment to responsible business practices.

Improved Supply Chain Management – It helps customers make informed decisions about their suppliers, fostering a more sustainable supply chain.

Benchmarking – Customers can compare their sustainability performance against industry peers, identifying areas for improvement.

Regulatory Compliance – Ensuring meeting regulatory requirements related to sustainability.

Frank Hay, Group Managing Director, Board24 commented; “This is an important step in delivering our sustainability strategy and shows our serious commitment to our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policy and those of our customers and the wider supply chain.

“We are pleased to have taken the first step on the accreditation process and look forward to making improvements during the next year to improve our scoring further.”
