Josh Lenc joined the business earlier this year and is our first Graduate Sales Executive.

Josh, from Shrewsbury, studied Business, Physical Education and Geography at A‑Level before going on to study Business Marketing at the University of Liverpool, where he achieved a 2:1.

“I’ve always been fascinated by how we value things not just for what they are, but for what they mean. That curiosity about the psychological mechanisms behind value, enjoyment and perception is what drew me into the field of marketing,” said Josh.

Josh’s role sees him becoming involved in many different aspects of the business. This has seen him have a busy integration into the business with visits to Preston and Eurocentral planned to meet the teams there as well.

“There is a lot to learn in such a large and diverse business, but it’s been very enjoyable and interesting,” said Josh. “I’d love to see my role continue to evolve so I can help create value in the minds of both internal teams and customers, just as much as value is created on the factory floor. That involves analysing each moment of the customer journey and hopefully having a positive impact at every stage.

“Whilst I had never thought about a career in corrugated packaging, I’m really enjoying learning everything about the product, the business and how corrugated packaging is such an integral part of society.

“Funnily enough, just before I applied for the role, I’d ordered something from Selfridges and kept the yellow cardboard box because I appreciated it so much! It felt like a fitting coincidence when I was offered a graduate role in the world of packaging.”

Current projects that Josh is working on is the customer journey, customer engagement, investments in Cases24 and process improvement and this has seen him engage with many departments across the business ranging from production to communications.

“It’s a steep learning curve and it’s been great to also bring some fresh ideas, encourage creativity and support the continuous improvement objectives of the business. Going forward, I know that open communication and shared goals lead to high performance and future opportunities and I’m hoping for a long career with the business.”

Away from work, he plays football, golf and enjoys running – completing his first marathon in Madrid earlier this year. He also has a keen interest in fashion and has had the privilege of playing in a football match at Wembley Stadium!
