After 27 years at Board24, Larkhall, Gordon MacArthur has decided to retire from his position as Sales Director.  During this time, Gordon has seen many changes – from being a Sales Manager to his current position as Sales Director.

Working at different plants over the years has allowed him to gain valuable experience and see the company progress. As part of this involved communting to Kettering for several years, as well as covering UK sales during Danisco ownership as well as helping Coalville sales, covering customers in the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, and Ireland.

Dominic Drew, Group Managing Director commented, “Gordon has been an integral member of the Senior Management team for many years, assisting me with strategic decisions. Throughout his career he has shown hard work and dedication, through maintaining excellent relationships with customers. Gordon has been a vital part of Board24’s day-to-day operations, contributing greatly to the growth and success of the company. “

Day to day, Gordon enjoys the variety that his job brings, working alongside a well-established team and being involved in all aspects of the business, from sales, to production, and to transportation. Together with his colleague Stevie Kennedy (Production Manager), he ensures that the plant works tirelessly to meet customer requirements. His team members are also supported by him to ensure they reach their full potential, whether through training or further qualifications.

Stevie commented, “Working alongside Gordon for the last 27 years within the business has been an absolute pleasure. His knowledge, customer relations and expertise within Corrugated Packaging can be summed up in one word, ’outstanding’.

“An instrumental piece of the jigsaw, Gordon has dedicated his time within the business to ensure customer relations are maintained, seeking out opportunities for business growth with new and existing customers. He will be a significant loss to the business and will be sadly missed not only through Board24 as a whole, but especially here at the Larkhall site.”

Gordon plans to spend more time with his family in retirement, creating new memories and enjoying life. There has been a recent addition to the MacArthur family, an adorable Labrador puppy called Ruari. This will keep Gordon well occupied and out of mischief.
