Board24 are delighted to welcome Dan McConnell as the group’s new Finance Director. Dan replaces David Hoult who, having led the business for just under 3 years has now moved onto another adventure. Dan has worked alongside David during a 2-month handover period to fully understand all aspects of the business.

Dan joined Board24 in September 2021, bringing with him a breadth of experience. He has been in the packaging industry for over 11 years, across several finance and commercial roles, latterly as the commercial and finance business partner for the DS Smith UK Sheetfeeding and Sheetplant clusters.

Dan’s role involves leadership of Finance, Commercial and IT departments. His days at Board24 are varied and not limited to monitoring business performance, financial planning and control, overseeing budget preparation, as well as coaching and development of his team.

Although Dan is fairly new to the role, he is enjoying building relationships and learning the day-to-day operations that drive a growing, successful and sustainable business. “I believe the scope and responsibility of the role offers an exciting challenge over the coming months and years and I am delighted to have the opportunity to help shape the success of Board24 moving forward”.

Dan commented: “We have been through unprecedented and uncertain times over the last 24 months, so we are looking as a team to bring stability and value to our customers and employees as we head into 2022. We have some exciting investment opportunities, and I am keen to help continue the growth the business has seen over recent years.

It is not all work and no play, outside of the office Dan is a bit of a ‘hobbiest’, predominantly a sports fanatic and is keen to get involved at every opportunity. Dan loves to travel and experience new cultures, particularly the food! When he isn’t travelling, he loves to host friends and family, treating them to his homemade and often homegrown delights like jams, pickles, and liqueurs.
